J.R. Skola, grandson of Kalona resident Velma Skola, helped his Camdenton Missouri football team to its fourth state title.
Ranked No. 1 in the preseason prep football poll, the Camdenton Lakers finished the season 14-0.
The Lakers fell behind 14-3 in the third quarter to the defending 4A champion Helias in the third quarter, but rallied back in the fourth winning 15-14.
Tailback J.R. Skola clinched the victory on his touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
The state championship took place in St. Louis.
