Born May 19, 1917, in Washington, she was the daughter of Albert and Helen (Speakes) Batterson. She graduated from Washington High School and married Wayne Stransky February 11, 1937, in the Little Brown Church, Nashua.
Juanita L. Stransky, 81, of Wellman, died Friday, April 30, 1999, in McCreedy Home, Washington, following a lengthy illness.
Services were Monday, May 3, in Peterseim Funeral Home, Kalona, with the Reverend Mike Orthel officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Washington.
Born May 19, 1917, in Washington, she was the daughter of Albert and Helen (Speakes) Batterson. She graduated from Washington High School and married Wayne Stransky February 11, 1937, in the Little Brown Church, Nashua.
Mrs. Stransky was a homemaker and member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Speakes Family Society.
Survivors include her husband, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Larry Stransky of West Chester, Ohio, and Kerry and Susan Stransky, Dalton, Massachusetts; one foster sister, Peggy Sweet, Knoxville; four grandchildren, Aaron Stransky, Maura Stransky, Teresa Coomer and Angela Pritchett, and two great-grandchildren, Ryan Coomer and Jamie Pritchett.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Irene Anderson.
Memorials may be made to Washington County Hospice.
