As we have seen our first snowfall of the year, and dipping temperatures, we want to remind Kalona residents of the Senior Meal delivery program being offered.
Residents can sign up for meal deliveries on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with the meals being delivered between 11:00 and 12:00 each day. A weekly menu for the Goodwin Senior Dining Center can be found in The News.
For over a year now the City of Kalona has partnered with the City of Wellman and the Goodwin Senior Dining Center to provide Kalona with high-quality meals to deliver. The cost of the meals is based on need and ranges from $2.00 - $7.00 per day. We do have a form to fill out but there is no income requirement/verification, etc. We have been able to manage the program through the honor system of the participants and funding through some generous donations.
Should you or someone you know want to get more information please call City Hall at 319-656-2310 or go to our website at cityofkalona.org to view the sign-up form.
If you or your business would like to make a direct donation to help support the program, please contact Kalona City Hall to find out more information.
