The 2021 Kalona Day festivities will kick off with the annual Fun Run on the morning of June 19. T-shirts are guaranteed for all pre-registered runners as well as the first 25 to register on the morning of the race.
The cost is $25 during the early registration period, which lasts through May 31. Afterwards, general registration is $35.
The one-mile race begins at 7:40 a.m. with the 5K to follow around 8 a.m.
Trophies will be given to the top male and female participant in each race and medals will be given to the top three places in the following divisions:
One mile: ages 8 and under, ages 9-13
5K: ages 8 and under, ages 9-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 and over.
After the Fun Run, the Farmer’s Market will begin at 9:00 a.m. along with live bluegrass music from Banjoy. The annual Kalona Day Parade begins at 4:00 p.m.
