Buon Provenchal, which offers Spanish Carribean fare, was a new booth in Kalona this year. They were serving homemade beef empanadas, tostones (fried plantains), rice, and pork.

The Kalona Farmers Market was off to a good start despite threatening weather Saturday, May 13. This is the first time downtown streets were closed for the event. The farmers market will be held the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month through September.
