Jessica Janecek enters her third week at KCTC this week as the phone and internet service provider’s new marketing director. She was recruited from Washington County Public Health, where she spent the last decade working as a Medicare biller.
“This is a definite change of pace,” she says, “But it’s fun and it’s a challenge, and it’s using a different skill set than I’ve used for the past ten years, that’s for sure.”
The positive culture at KCTC lured her in, Janecek says.
“I kind of fell in love with the way KCTC treats their employees and their customers, and their drive,” she remarks.
Although she is still acclimating to her new position, Janecek is enjoying the process of taking on a new role.
“So far, I’m still learning. I like the more creative aspects of [my job] and I love getting to go out and talk to people and that kind of thing,” she says. “I really am enjoying just learning about [the company] and all of the different things that they do for their customers. They really do have a customer-first way about them.”
Born in Des Moines, Janecek has spent most of her life in Washington. She currently has a Wellman address but is looking forward to building a new house in West Chester this year.
“My grandpa’s last name is Miller, so we’re related to just about everybody,” she laughs.
