Kimberly Sue Swanson Meyer, affectionately known as Kim to everyone, passed away peacefully on the morning of July 4, 2024, at her home near Keosauqua. Kim's journey began in Sigourney, Iowa, May 25, 1967, where she was born to Richard Dean and Virginia P. Hervey Swanson. She spent her formative years in Wellman and proudly graduated from Mid-Prairie High School in 1985.

Kim's professional life was marked by dedication and excellence. Shortly after her high school graduation, she embarked on a career at Bell Publications in Coralville. Her industrious spirit and keen eye for detail eventually led her to Kalona Plastics, now known as EPC Plastics. For over three decades, Kim served as the Quality Control Manager, a role in which she excelled and earned the respect of her colleagues.

On a beautiful New Year's Eve in 2020, Kim's long-standing love with Gregg Meyer culminated in marriage. The couple exchanged vows in Fairfield, after a loving partnership of 30 years. Together, they built a life filled with joy, hard work, and the simple pleasures of country living.

Kim's passions were many, but she found particular solace in the art of sewing and the thrill of four-wheeler rides across the farm she adored. With Gregg's support, she meticulously crafted the layout of her garden, a labor of love that brought her immense satisfaction. Kim's garden was not just a showcase of her horticultural skills but also a sanctuary where she found peace and contentment.

Family was the cornerstone of Kim's world. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, always ensuring her family came first. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she relished in their company, often driving them to various practices and events. Kim shared a special bond with her grandchildren, marked by a secret code for ice cream stops disguised as "needing to stop for gas," a phrase that will forever bring smiles to their faces.

Kim will be lovingly remembered by her two sons: Clifford Meyer and Thomas Meyer (Haley Jo), both of Keosauqua; and her daughter: Carrie Cosgrove (Terry) of Houghton. She will also be deeply missed by her eight grandchildren: Jeremiah Cosgrove, Cole, Ember, Nadine, Makenna, Walter, Nelson, and Virginia Meyer. Kim's memory will be treasured by her parents: Richard and Virginia Swanson of San Antonio, Texas; Jenny Gase Baker and family; her two beloved dogs, Rose and Baby Bear; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Kim was welcomed into eternity by her loving husband: Gregg, who preceded her in death, as well as her brother: Jeff; her sister: Nancy Jean; and her sister-in-law: Kitty Swanson.

A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Cranston Family Funeral Home in Keosauqua, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m., officiated by Pastor Jerry Hoover.
