Lady Lions dominate W-MU for round one win

A 29-0 lead after one surely emits confidence. 

That's what the Lone Tree Lady Lions (19-3) did when they beat the Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves 73-14 on Thursday, Feb. 8. The first round win for the Lady Lions was their first in three years as they now wait for another home matchup on Tuesday, Feb. 13 against the Danville Bears (17-4). 

Six Lone Tree Lady Lions contributed to that big first quarter start and sophomore Finley Jacque led the Lady Lions with 17 points on the night.

Sophomore Alyson Ford was second in team scoing with 13 and senior Avery Lisk was third with 10. Juniors Rylee Shield and Cate Sexton scored nine as Vivian Zaruba scored eight.

Additionally, senior Bailey McGrew, junior Sami Branson and junior Madison Floyd all scored two points as sophomore Ava Christofferson rounded out the scoring with one. 

The Lady Lions next take the court on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. against the Danville Bears in Lone Tree.
