Larry Wrede, 80, of Lone Tree, formerly of Columbus Junction, passed away Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.  A celebration of life will be held at the American Legion in Columbus Junction, Sunday, Nov. 6, from 12-2. Larry Judge Wrede was born Jan. 18, 1942, in Iowa City, the son of Judge and DeLois Thelma (Larew) Wrede.  He was a 1960 graduate of Columbus Community School.  Larry was united in marriage to Sandra Louise Bryson and later divorced.  He then married Tina Gesling and later divorced.

Larry worked for Rath Packing for more than 20 years and then HON Industry for more than 25 years.  He was a member of the Shriners and a 57-year member of the Mason’s in Columbus Junction.  He enjoyed cars, boating and working, but most of all, he loved to spend time with his family, especially the grandchildren.  He always found a way to make people laugh and was definitely spontaneous as could be.

Larry will be deeply missed by his son: Jeff (Patty) Wrede of North Liberty; stepchildren: Joanee (Larry) Clark of Letts, Wendy Davis of Columbia, Missouri, Schott Davis of Washington and Raquel “Kelly” (Chris) Decker of Brooklyn; four grandchildren: Brant Wrede, Kylie Brown, Brenna Wrede and Gabrielle Gaillard; many step grandchildren; five great-grandchildren: Judge Wrede, Kelton Brown, Banks Brown, Louie Gaillard and Iowa Gaillard; and one sister: Karen (Dean) Symmonds of Columbus Junction.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
