Leah G. (Yoder) Roberts, 96, of Kalona, passed from this life on Thursday, Oct.7, 2021, at Pleasantview in Kalona.  A celebration of life was held Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, at the Sharon Center United Methodist Church, Kalona. Burial followed at the Sharon Center Methodist Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for Sharon Center United Methodist Church and Pleasantview.

Leah Grace Roberts was born Nov. 23, 1924, in rural Johnson County, the daughter of Daniel M. and Nancy (Hershberger) Yoder. She attended West Lincoln rural school. 

She was united in marriage to Dale Roberts on Oct. 14, 1947, at First Methodist Church in Iowa City. She was a homemaker and also worked as a cook at Washington Township Elementary and various places in the Amana area. She retired as a housekeeper at Amana Holiday Inn.

Leah was a member of the Sharon Center United Methodist Church and the Kalona Lioness Club. She was an avid reader, enjoyed dancing with Dale, baking, flower gardening, and spending time with her grandkids.  On her 80th birthday, her grandson took her for a ride on his Harley.

Survivors include three children: Jimmy Dale (Chris) Roberts of Frytown, Susan Beth Roberts of Washington, and Lori Ann (Bret) Chalupa of Kalona; six grandchildren: Larry, Amy, John, Christopher, Jamie, and Andy; six great-grandchildren; two sisters: Ruby Campos of Oak Park, Illinois and Eunice (Jim) Brenneman of Denver, Colorado; one brother: Phil (Judy) Yoder of Iowa City; and two sisters-in-law: Marilyn Yoder of Archbold, Ohio and Carolyn Yoder of Stevensville, Michigan.

Preceding Leah in death were her parents; her husband: Dale in 1991; three sisters: infants Lois and Ruth Yoder and Rhoda Mae Yoder; and three brothers: D. Paul (Ila Mae), Luke and Joe Yoder.
