The Lone Tree boys golf team picked up its first victory of the season on Tuesday with a 245-265 win over Columbus.

Wildcat senior Grant Watson was the meet medalist with a nine-hole total of 48, while Lone Tree junior Joe Boxwell was the runner up with a total of 53.

Boxwell was just a stroke over par on the par four third hole and again on the par five fourth. He was steady in the Lions’ first home meet of the season at Blue Top Ridge with just one triple bogey on the day.

Kylie Patterson was the medalist for the Lone Tree girls, finishing ahead of both of her competitors from Columbus with 62 strokes.

Sebastian Jacque had a par on hole seven and finished with a 61. Caden Smith carded a 65 while Lukas Fuhrmeister rounded out the scoring with a total of 66.

Kyle Zaruba avoided any double-digit holes and finished with 67.

Dominic Graap had a tough two-hole stretch early, but shot a bogey on eight and a par on hole nine to finish with 73.
