Lone Tree church to host mental wellness presentation

LONE TREE

On Saturday, April 6, Lone Tree’s United Presbyterian Church at 110 West Elm St. will host Jennifer Brost of Potential Counseling and Consultation Services for a free – and non-religious – mental wellness workshop. The workshop will begin at 10 a.m. and go until 12 p.m..

“A conversation between friends from a church in Lone Tree led to more questions than answers about mental health and how it affects us all,” Teri Hinrichs, member of the Unted Presbyterian Church, said via email. “This sparked an idea to hold a workshop and offer it at no charge. After many months, calls, and emails, event organizers were connected with Jennifer Brost, [a] licensed mental health counselor.”

Brost has been a mental health counselor for 12 years. She specializes in individual and group settings to help patients “realize their potential.” Brost is coming to Lone Tree from Cedar Falls where she practices.

Brost’s presentation will center around interactive discussion where residents can ask questions and gain resources. If the event garners attention, Hinrichs is open to more events in the future.

RSVPs are not required but residents can still place an RSVP on the United Presbyterian Church’s Facebook page.

“United Presbyterian Church in Lone Tree is hosting the event to serve the community in and around Lone Tree - all are welcome,” Hinrichs said.
