Ryan Ronan was appointed as Mayor Pro Tem, to take over the duties of mayor should Spillman ever be absent or unable to perform his duties.

The council approved Resolution 2022-A to appoint council liaisons as follows: Housing and business development, Dave Wageman and Pearson; Parks and cemetery, Dix and Matt Zadow; Streets and sidewalks, Peason and Ronan; Water and sewer, Zadow and Ronan; Police and fire, Ronan and Wageman; Buildings and senior dining, Dix and Pearson; Library and cable TV, Zadow and Dix; and School and wellness center, Ronan and Wageman.

Wageman and Ronan were appointed as representatives to the East Central Iowa Council of Governments (ECICOG). ECICOG is an organization that assists its members with services like grant writing and other municipal assistance.

Zadow was appointed as the Lone Tree representative for the Metropolitan Planning Organization of Johnson County (MPOJC).

In other business, the council set Feb. 7 for a public hearing regarding the FY22-23 SF634 max levy. The hearing will commence at 5:30 p.m.
