Head Coach Tom Dickey’s Lone Tree girls basketball team won the first three games of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference tournament and advanced to the semi-finals.
Lone Tree’s first opponent was Burlington Notre Dame, who eventually fell to the Lady Lions 60-41, Nov. 30.
Junior Megan Ripperton led the Lions with 17 points including two three-pointers. Senior Natalie Ratzlaff followed close behind with 14. Junior Erin Brun added 10 points.
Ripperton grabbed nine rebounds, handed out eight assists, and stole the ball eight times. Junior Jill Spears and Ratzlaff followed with eight and seven boards respectively.
Lone Tree defeated Fort Madison Aquinas in the second round of the tourney, 57-35, Dec. 3.
Ripperton led all scorers with 24 points. Brun added 10.
On the defensive end, Spears ripped down nine boards while Ratzlaff followed with eight.
The Lady Lions defeated Van Buren to advance to the semi-finals of the conference tourney, 59-34.
Spears led the offense with 16 points and both Brun and sophomore Jamie Sexton added eight. Sexton also grabbed nine boards.
Lone Tree will play the Harmony Rockets, Saturday Dec. 11 at Lone Tree in the semi-finals.
