Lorak strikes out a dozen in Lone Tree's first win

Senior pitcher Arlie Lorack allowed just one hit and struck out 12 as Lone Tree snapped a three-game losing streak with a 5-2 win at Hillcrest on Friday.

Both Raven runs in the seventh inning were unearned. Lorack hit one batter, but did not issue a single walk during an excellent performance in the circle.

"Arlie adjusted to not having all of her pitches working the best, but we found the combination that worked for her," coach Jovonte Squiers said. "And she just continued to do what she has always done and throw the ball hard."

Lone Tree scored runs in the third and fourth inning, and took a comfortable 5-0 lead with three runs in the top of the seventh.

"I think our girls were just wanting the perfect pitch, but when it came we just couldn't really get our bat on the ball and that showed early," Squiers said. "Towards the end of the game we adjusted and started to drive the ball into gaps a lot better."

Hogan Eden was 2-3 at the plate with an RBI for Lone Tree in the win. Ella Buser had two hits, reached on error, and was hit by a pitch. Kayleigh Rundlett, Alex Dautremont, and Lorack each had a hit and an RBI. Chloe Mills had a hit, while Ellen Carow had a hit and reached base on error.

Grace Miller had an RBI for the Ravens in the seventh inning.
