Mid-Prairie’s junior varsity baseball team kept their solid 1999 season going with two wins last week.
Friday, they held off Central City 6-5 to up their record to 15-3. A four-run fourth inning rally, centered around doubles from Derek Yoder and Ryan Duwa, aided M-P.
Tyler Griffith, the Golden Hawk catcher, ended the game by throwing out a Central City runner at second. He also tagged a runner out at home in the final inning.
The Golden Hawks remained unbeaten in conference play with a 12-7 win over Tipton last Wednesday.
Adam Swartzendruber finished the game scoring three times, tripling and singling, while Adam Rath scored twice and also had two hits. Tyler Grout and Griffith each added triples in the win.
