M-P parents speak at public forum

Several concerned parents attended the regular meeting of the Mid-Prairie School Board to speak during public forum regarding Trent Yoder, a man previously convicted of exploitation of a minor, who currently helps build sets for Mid-Prairie fine arts.

“Mr. Yoder and his family are Fine Arts Booster members. They donate their time to build the play and musical sets for the High School since their children participate in the art programs. They build the sets on their private property and deliver them to be installed at the High School in the evenings after all students have left the premises or on weekends,” said M-P Fine Arts Boosters president Stacie Woodside in an email. “Mr. Yoder is never alone at the high school and he is most certainly never there while students are present.  When he comes to deliver the set, he is always with another Booster parent that also donates their time and materials for the sets and a staff member is also present to supervise until his work is complete.”

The School Board plans to address the issues brought up by concerned parents at the next regularly scheduled meeting, March 21 at 6: 15 p.m.
