Marjorie T. Hora, 98, of Riverside, passed away Monday, May 12, 2025, at her home. A funeral Mass will be held Monday, May 19, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Riverside with Father Bill Roush officiating. The burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Riverside. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 3:30 – 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Riverside, where a Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for Priests For Life and RICA for the Holy Family Parish. The Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Marjorie Theresa (Thomann) Hora was born May 26, 1926, the daughter of Wilford O. and Anna T. (Simon) Thomann. She attended rural Greenfield School.
On May 18, 1949, she was united in marriage to Edwin Michael Hora at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Riverside. Marjorie loved being a farm wife and enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, reading and cooking.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the HJ Club, and the Washington County Pork Producers.
Survivors include five children: Michael (Cindy) Hora of Washington, Sue Hora and John Menage of Van Horne, Anthony Hora of Riverside, Thomas (Mary Kay) Hora of Riverside, and Andrew (Mary) Hora; four grandchildren: Justin (Kelly Metz), Matt (Erin), Kristen (Tyler) Becker, and Jessica; six great-grandchildren: Isabelle, Chase, Dylan, Brenna, Kaylee and Weston; one sister: Doris Yeggy of Riverside; and three sisters-in-law: Barbara Thomann, Alberta Thomann and Kay Thomann-Tener.
Preceding Marjorie in death were her parents; her husband: Edwin in 2005; and seven siblings: Bernard, Donald, Lawrence and Jim Thomann, Vera Davis, Marie Kiene and Lillan Kiene.
