Mid-Prairie choir students prepare for All State Choir

Posted

Select Mid-Prairie High School choir students recently participated in a two-day camp at Central College in Pella, Iowa to prepare for All-State choir auditions. The All-State choir is a yearly performance of over a hundred high school students from across Iowa.

Each year a set list is made, typically six arrangements. Students who seek this high honor work hours a week to prepare for auditions in late October.

Workshops and camps are offered all across the state for students to work with other peers and receive individual input.

The Central College All-State camp has been offered every year, including last year during the beginning of the pandemic. Any student can sign up, and they provide a number of professors and teachers to help the students advance their vocals.
