GOOSE LAKE
Mid-Prairie entered day two of the RVC Tournament with a mission, stun all to gather another tournament win.
Their first match was against No. 15 Monticello (22-9). Mid-Prairie kept it close throughout but lost 2-1 after taking set one 22-20.
The final two set scores were 21-18 and 15-13 for Monticello.
Because of the first-round loss, Mid-Prairie would not be competing for a top seed.
Instead, they played Bellevue as their final matchup of the evening, winning 2-0. Set scores were 28-26 and 25-19.
Between the two matches, sophomore Jovi Evans led in kills with 26. Callie Huber was right behind with 21 kills, 14 of which coming against Bellevue when the junior played lights out. Sophomore Harper Pacha was third in team kills with 17.
Libero Dakota Mitchell led in digs with 37. Evans followed with 28.
Evans also led the team in assists with 40 and serve aces with three. Sophomore Avery Helmuth was second in assists with 31.
Huber officially tallied two blocks between the two games but could be seen alongside junior Brylee Gearhart and sophomore Laurin Fay leaping for the block and affecting play every volley.
This tournament concluded the Hawk's regular season.
