Eight Mid-Prairie Large Group Speech Groups competed Saturday, February 5 at Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School for the Iowa High School Speech Association’s State Large Group Speech Contest. All eight groups earned Division 1 ratings.
IHSSA All-State nominations will be announced Monday, February 7. Only around the top 5% of student participants competing at IHSSA State Speech Contests earn All-State nominations.
Earning Division 1 Ratings at State Large Group Speech Contest:
One Act Play: “And The Giants Fell” - Jacob Carrillo, Liv Caskey, Isabel Forbes, Avery Frede, Harlie Gehling, Isadora Goode, Sam Harris and Sam Stacey.
Readers Theatre: “Small World” - Ethan Bontrager, Chris Burnham, Avery Frede, Harlie Gehling, River Gehling and Gideon Sim.
Ensemble Acting: “Doctors Orders” - Kenadi Fay, River Gehling and Avery Slaubaugh.
Ensemble Acting: “Hold For Three” - Ethan Bontrager, Alex Burnham and Logan McClellen.
Musical Theatre: “Something Rotten” - Logan McClellen, Terra Richardson and Avery Slaubaugh.
Musical Theatre: “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” - Haydon Bailey, Liv Caskey, Kenadi Fay and Jack Greiner.
Group Improvisation: “The Bridget Rockefeller Fan Club” - Grace Puttmann and Terra Richardson.
Group Improvisation: “The Triracials” - Diego Ayala, Alex Burnham and Gideon Sim.
