The Mid-Prairie Feed The Kids Program's annual dinner and auction is just around the corner. The organization's 12th annual Feed the Kids Dinner & Auction will be held on Saturday, Aug. 22.

The event raises money to help provide food for local children who experience food insecurity or have limited access to nutritious meals.

In 2021, the organization created the Mid-Prairie Emergency Fund to address non-food hardships that became more apparent during the COVID-19 pandemic. The fund allows the program to assist students with needs such as winter clothing, sports equipment, toiletries and lunch account debt.

This year's event will take place at the Wellman YMCA Parkside Banquet Room. Dinner begins at 5 p.m., followed by the silent auction.

Admission is available through a free-will donation. Reserved tables of eight start at a $150 donation. Those interested in attending can call 319-646-6781 or 319-430-2578, or email mpfeedthekids@gmail.com for tickets.

Businesses and individuals can also support the program through various sponsorship levels. Sponsorship information and registration forms are available by contacting mpfeedthekids@gmail.com.

The Mid-Prairie Feed The Kids program is grateful for the community's continued support.

Through its fundraising efforts, the program hopes to continue helping local students and work toward ending childhood food insecurity throughout the whole community.
