Nineteen members of the Mid-Prairie Speech Team competed in 27 events at the Iowa High School Speech Association's District Individual Events Speech Contest at Mount Vernon High School on Saturday, Feb. 24. Of those 27 events, 24 earned a Division 1 rating and are advancing to the IHSSA State Individual Events Contest at Xavier High School in Cedar Rapids on Saturday, March 9.

Haydon Bailey: Division 1 ratings in Solo Musical Theatre and Solo Acting; Jacob Carrillo: Division 1 ratings in Solo Improvisation and Solo Acting; Jillian Clark: Division 1 rating in Solo Improvisation; Tabitha Fisher: Division 1 rating in Interpretive Prose; Harlie Gehling: Division 1 ratings in Radio News Announcing and Interpretive Poetry; River Gehling: Division 1 rating in Interpretive Prose; Isadora Goode: Division 1 rating in Original Oratory and Division 2 rating Expository Address.
Jack Greiner: Division 1 ratings in Solo Musical Theatre and Solo Improvisation; Wren Harris: Division 1 rating in Interpretive Prose; Faziia Kasymova: Division 1 rating in Storytelling; Niah Leaton: Division 1 ratings in Reviewing and After Dinner Speaking; Logan McClellen: Division 1 rating in Solo Musical Theatre, and Division 2 rating in Storytelling; Grace Puttmann: Division 1 rating in Interpretive Poetry; Daniel Rodgers : Division 1 ratings in Poetry and After Dinner Speaking.
