Kalona Cooperative Technology Company has been operating with an extra set of hands recently while Mid-Prairie Senior, Leslie Miller, completes her internship through a Kirkwood education program to develop skills in Professionalism, Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Social Awareness, and Communication.
“It is important that our graduates understand the careers available right here in our community,” said Casey Peck, KCTC General Manager. “Leslie has been a great intern over the last few months, and we would love to see this caliber of individual choose to return to our community once her educational goals have been achieved. She exemplifies the honest and hardworking individuals that we love to see doing great things right here in Washington County.”
Leslie Miller will graduate early from Mid-Prairie High School and begin a full-time position at the Riverside Casino until starting the new school year this fall at Kirkwood Community College for a degree in Agri-Business. When asked what she had gained from her experience as an intern at KCTC, Miller stated, “The variety of personalities you’ll interact with each day and how to effectively communicate with each other is something I had not expected to be so important.”
