On Thursday, May 9, the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks hosted the Washington Demons. The Hawks lost 3-2.
Junior Zoey Curtiss scored the opening goal for Mid-Prairie. Junior Lydia Beachy scored Mid-Prairie's second and final goal.
Sophomore Elise Gingerich notched an assist, remarking "the Elise Gingerich flu game was not a success," jokingly after the game concluded.
Gingerich would score Mid-Prairie's lone goal on Friday, May 10, when the Hawks lost 2-1 against Bellevue.
The Golden Hawks sit at 7-7 and are ranked 5th in their conference.
They'll face the 9-3 Anamosa Blue Raiders on Wednesday, May 15, when the playoffs commence. Mid-Prairie will travel to Anamosa and the game starts at 7 p.m..
