Mid-Prairie's playoff run ends in a 36-0 loss to the PCM Mustangs

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks fell to the PCM Mustangs 36-0 in round two of the 2A playoffs. The Hawks season concludes in the same round as last year when the Hawks lost 63-7 to the Williamsburg Raiders.

PCM rose to 8-2 and will continue their playoff push next week while Mid-Prairie finished at 5-5.

The Mustangs received the opening kickoff and as temperatures continued to drop, everyone in attendance had to deal with the pressing wind that made each and every throw a challenge to track.

After forcing a punt, Mid-Prairie was off to a promising start when Hudson Ehrenfelt began to heat.

The Hawks would stall out with an interception thrown by Brady Weber on a fourth and 12 play from the Mustang 29.

The first quarter was swift, ending with no score.

PCM did not let the score board hold goose eggs for long. They would score two touchdowns in the second quarter from an Adrien Robbins 49-yard run and a 66-yard catch-and-run touchdown from Griffin Olson.

The Mustangs were threatening to score again before half but lost a fumble inside the redzone.

PCM had an explosive third, scoring 22 points to reach the final score of 36-0.

The first score in the third came from Olson, a 39-yard touchdown reception.

The second was a 25-yard touchdown run from the Mustang quarterback, Gavin VanGorp. The Mustangs converted a two-point conversion after the Hawks committed a neutral zone infraction penalty on the PAT attempt.

The third score was a VanGorp one-yard touchdown run.

Neither team scored a point in the fourth quarter.
