Two thirds, a fourth and a fifth summarized the outcomes for the Mid-Prairie Middle School track teams at the annual Junior Golden Hawk Relays May 1.
The 7th and 8th grade girls picked up the third-place finishes, while the 8th grade boys finished fourth and the 7th grade boys ended up fifth.
On the boys side, the 7th grade team had the only two individual event titles.
Dan Waldschmidt zipped to the 100 meter dash title in a time of 13.76 seconds, while Steven Hagemeier won the high jump, clearing four feet, eight inches. M-P’s 8th grade boys were close to individual event titles, finishing second in the 4x800 meter relay, the shuttle hurdle relay and gaining runner-up marks from Jonathon Knarreborg in the 400 meter dash and Jon Miller in the 200 meter dash.
The two girls teams came up with nine titles between them.
The 7th grade team finished with five of them. Emily Stout swept the discus and shot put competitions, winning the discus with a best effort of 66 feet, six and a quarter inches and the shot put with a best effort of 25 feet, two and a half inches. Kyra Hershberger followed with a title in the 400 meter dash (1:09.84), while Heather Humble won the seven-flight hurdles (15.33 seconds) and the 4x100 meter relay team added a title with a time of 1:01.29.
The four eighth grade titles went to Amanda Skow in the high jump (four feet, eight inches) and the mile (5:50.26), Jenna Brenneman in the discus (78 feet, two inches) and the 4x200 meter relay (2:03.79).
Washington won the 7th grade girls team title and the 8th grade boys team title. Solon captured the 7th grade boys championship and Williamsburg cruised to the 8th grade girls title.

After a solid outing at home May 1, the Junior Golden Hawk girls ran into their toughest meet of the season last Monday at Clear Creek-Amana.
Combining the 7th and 8th grade teams together, M-P finished fourth in a six-team field. Williamsburg won the meet with 133 points with Clear Creek-Amana finishing second with 105 points.
Skow had one of the two championships and also set a school record in the mile run. She won the high jump, clearing four feet, eight inches and came back with a time of 5:35.29 in the mile for second place, trimming six seconds off her previous school-record time at Muscatine earlier this season.
The other individual title went to the 800 meter medley relay team of Schaeffer, Schweitzer, Duwa and Skow in a time of 2:12.09.
