University of Iowa assistant basketball coach Greg Lansing spoke to the 8th-10th grade basketball camp at IMS last Thursday morning. Lansing, a former resident of Mt. Pleasant and the son of hall of fame basketball coach Dave Lansing from Harlan, Iowa, also addressed the 5th-7th grade campers that afternoon.
Camp awards were given to outstanding individuals in each grade level. The Best Defender awards went to James Vigneron (10th grade), Kenton Miller (9th grade), Sean Furney (8th grade), Keith Miller (7th grade), Mitch Brenneman (6th grade), and Darrell Bontrager (5th grade). Best Rebounder: Dallas Schrock (10th grade), Logan Hesser (9th grade), Adam Wildenborg (8th grade), Jonathan Hershberger (7th grade), Andy Olson (6th grade), Bradley Hershberger (5th grade). Best Hustle: Matt Hora (10th grade), Jordan Garrett (9th grade), Jacob Leichty (8th grade), Michael Hofer (7th grade), Thomas Davis (6th grade), Kyle Salow (5th grade). Mr. Fundamental: James Vigneron (10th grade), Christian Grieser (9th grade), Cody Negrete (8th grade), Aaron Gingerich (7th grade), Derek Sondag (6th grade), Micah Gingerich (5th grade). Outstanding Camper: Darren Shetler (10th grade), Brylee Miller (9th grade), Alex Graber (8th grade), Delwyn Borntrager (7th grade), Jonathan Bothell (6th grade), Carson Miller (5th grade).
