Nora Mae Rathmel, 91, of Wellman, died Saturday, July 17, 1999, in Washington Care Center, Washington, following a short illness.
Services were Tuesday, July 20, in Powell Funeral Home, Wellman, with the Reverend Gene Carpenter officiating. Burial was in Elm Grove Cemetery, Washington.
Born October 14, 1907, near Wellman, she was the daughter of William and Nettie (Newman) Hole. She attended Wellman High School. She married Frank P. Rathmel March 12, 1925, in Washington.
Mrs. Rathmel lived in the Wellman and Washington communities where she was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wellman.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Samuel E. and Cora Marie Rathmel of Knoxville; one daughter, Rita R. Farr of Gravios Mills, Missouri; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mamie Maxwell of Sigourney.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Freida Enfield; five brothers, Lloyd Hole, Lakin Hole, Ernie Hole, Willard Hole, and Lester Hole; and three sisters, Nina Dunbar, Neomia Butterbaugh and Elva Walcott.
Memorials may be made for breast cancer research.
Powell Funeral Home, Wellman, in charge of arrangements.
