WASHINGTON
There is only one contest in the November election for Washington County officials: the District 2 supervisor post in which incumbent Bob Yoder of Kalona will face challenger Jacob Snider of Riverside. Both are Republicans.
Others, all unopposed Republicans, are incumbent supervisors Jack Seward, Jr., District 1, of West Chester; Stan Stoops, District 4, Washington; Jared Schneider, Sheriff, Wellman; Nathan Repp, County Attorney, Kalona, and Tamera Stewart, Riverside, auditor. The current auditor, Dan Widmer, announced in February he would not seek re-election to the office he has held since January 2011. All terms are for four years.
There were no Democratic or Libertarian candidate filings for the November 5 election which also will have a national election for the office of the President. The only other possible candidate will have to be via write-in votes.
