Patricia (Pat) Ann Anderson was born Dec. 28, 1938, in Elgin, Iowa, the daughter of David Norris and Florence (Goff) Capper. She graduated from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. Pat was united in marriage to Tracy E. Anderson on Aug. 30, 1959. She was a teacher for more than 40 years at the Kalona Elementary. Pat also was an active volunteer at her church and mission trips to Haiti (13 times) with her brother and church group. She was a member of the United Christian Baptist Church and Kalona Rotary. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, bird watching, reading and keeping up with former students. Pat died Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Pleasantview Home in Kalona at the age of 86 years.
She is survived by her children: Cary (Cindy) Anderson, Jay Anderson and Vicky Guillen; grandchildren: Austin, Breanna, Chay, Jared and Allie; great-grandchildren: Aidan, Addie and Acre; and a brother: Dr. Stan (Gail) Capper.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers: Jim Capper and Lloyd Capper; and a son-in-law: Luis Guillen.
Her body has been donated to the University of Iowa Deeded Body Program. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
