Paul (Dusty) Keenan Dusterhoft, 57, of Lone Tree died Monday, June 28, 1999, at home, following a five-month illness.
Services were Friday, July 2, in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Iowa City, with the Reverend David Hitch officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Coralville.
Born January 24, 1942 in Grinnell, he was the son of Clarence and Louise (Keenan) Dusterhoft. He graduated from St. John’s Catholic School in Victor in 1959. He and Sue Castle married September 5, 1981, in rural Lone Tree.
Mr. Dusterhoft owned Dusty’s Tire & Service Inc., in Coralville since 1981 and in Lone Tree since 1991.
He was a member of CCA and the Catholic church.
Survivors include his wife, Sue; his mother, Louise Dusterhoft, Victor; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Brian and Twila Dusterhoft, Coralville, and Jason Dusterhoft, Austin, Texas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Dick Sadler, Casper, Wyoming, and Marguerite and Charles Wichmann, Dubuque; one brother and sister-in-law, George and Norma Dusterhoft, Cape Coral, Florida; and two grandchildren, Brianna Dusterhoft and Leah Dusterhoft.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice or indigent cancer patients of the Oasis of Hope Hospital, California.
