The Huskies battled for state at the 1A District Tournament in Wilton on Feb. 15. First and second place advanced a wrestler to state.
Highland ended the night with three Huskies punching their tickets to state: senior Landon Bell (106 lbs), freshman Cash Cole (113 lbs), and sophomore Tyler Pierson (132 lbs).
Cole and Pierson qualified with runner-up finishes. Bell placed 3rd but due to the runner-up sustaining an inury, Bell advances to state.
The State Wrestling Championships at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines takes place from Feb. 19-22.
