Meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 3, the Kalona Planning & Zoning Commission voted to approve the request from C.J. Moyna Holdings preliminary approval of the plat for Vista Ridge Subdivision with some conditions. There are 35 lots for housing in this HOA development.
The P&Z recommended that the front width be 60 feet, front yard setback be 25 feet, the side yard setback be five feet (instead of eight) and the rear yard setback be 25 feet. The minimum lot size is to be 7,000 square feet. The recommendation stipulated that R-1 housing be allowed in the recently rezoned R-3 subdivision.
The P&Z commission also reviewed plans for Cypress Point Condominiums and a proposal to revise setbacks the same as was approved for Vista Subdivision, but it did not take any action.
