R. Jean Stumpf, 68, of rural Kalona, died Thursday, July 8, 1999, in Washington County Hospital following a one-year illness.
Services were Saturday, July 10, in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Richmond, with the Reverend Mark Swanson officiating. Burial was in the Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Born May 25, 1931, in Iowa City, she was the daughter of James M. and Mary M. (Kelly) Donohoe. She graduated from Cosgrove High School, Cosgrove, and married Charles Stumpf in Cosgrove September 8, 1959.
Mrs. Stumpf was a homemaker and worked for the Mid-Prairie School District as a cook for 12 years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the National Catholic Society of Foresters.
Survivors include her husband, Charles; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Mike “Red” and Eileen Stumpf, Hills, and Francis Stumpf, Iowa City; one sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Ed Shebek, Riverside; two grandchildren, Betsy and Paul Stumpf; and one aunt, Hanna Kelly, Kalona.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials may be made to Washington County Hospice.
