Ralph J. Schnoebelen, 86, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospital. A funeral Mass will be held Friday, April 12, 2024, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Riverside. Interment will be held at St. Vincent’s Cemetery. A visitation will be held from  5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Memorials may be made to St. Vincent’s Cemetery in Ralph’s memory. Schnoebelen was born July 3, 1937 in Riverside, Iowa, the son of Richard and Blanche (Fouchek) Schnoebelen. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Riverside. Ralph was united in marriage to Janice J. Wehmeyer on August 16, 1958 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Riverside.

Ralph was a farmer and owned and operated his own farm equipment dealership, Schnoebelen, Inc. He was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where he served on the church council. He was also a member of the Riverside City Council for many years and served as mayor. Ralph was a member of the Riverside Fire Department, Riverside Community Club and the Riverside Chamber of Commerce. He was instrumental in the construction of Hall Park. Ralph played baseball in his youth and enjoyed camping, fishing, tractor pulling and blacksmithing later in life. He greatly enjoyed square dancing with his wife, Jan

Ralph will be deeply missed by his wife: Jan Schnoebelen of Riverside; children: Linmarie (Anthony) Eden of Riverside, Leanne (Tom) Sexton of Riverside, Randy (Lisa) Schnoebelen of Riverside, and Lisa (John) Fries of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; grandchildren: Shelbi (Josh) Boyce, Michael Eden, Haleigh (Jerid) McCrary, Matthew Eden, Colin (Mariah) Sexton, Logan Fries, Jarad Schnoebelen, Amy Schnoebelen, Regan Fries and Levi Schnoebelen; and great-granddaughters: Everleigh and Aleigha Boyce.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and four brothers.
