Born July 24, 1930, near Kalona, he was the son of Lewis and Katie (Hochstedler) Brenneman. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Raymond Gideon Brenneman, 69, of Kalona, died Saturday, September 25, 1999 in Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, following a brief illness.
Services were Wednesday, September 29, in the Raymond Brenneman residence near Kalona with Truman W. Miller, minister in charge, officiating. Burial was in the North Gingerich Cemetery near Kalona.
Born July 24, 1930, near Kalona, he was the son of Lewis and Katie (Hochstedler) Brenneman. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
He married Bertha Miller December 8, 1955, near Kalona. The couple lived and farmed in the Kalona community all of their married life.
Mr. Brenneman was involved in an accident December 12, 1985, which left him paralyzed.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha; eight children and their spouses, Nathan Glen and Hannah Brenneman of Cameron, Ontario; Rebecca Ann and Perry W. Yoder, Rudy James and Geneva Brenneman, Priscilla Beth and Timothy Beachy, Marcus David and Laura Brenneman, Emma Grace Brenneman, Aquila Paul and Emma Grace Brenneman, and Laban Ray and Delores Brenneman, all of Kalona; twenty-nine grandchildren; one brother, Paul E. Brenneman of Kalona; and one aunt, Ida Miller of Arthur, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Margaret.
