Robert J. Snyder, 73, of Valley Center, California, died Thursday, May 27, 1999.

Services were held in the Living Way Church, Poway, California.

Born February 8, 1926, in Iowa City, he was the son of Paul and Kathryn (Miller) Snyder. He graduated from Kalona High School, Kalona, in 1944.

Mr. Snyder worked in sales before retiring. He served in the United States Navy and on the board of the Chinese Shar Pei Club of America.

Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Mara Diane (Moffett) Snyder of Valley Center; two stepsons, Rex Moffett Williamson of Washougal, Washington, and Roger Carelton Williamson of Richardson, Texas; three daughters, Linda Susan Neyer of Scranton, Pennsylvania, Bonnie Kay Klick of Lyno Lakes, Minnesota, and Nancy Ann Gilpin of Scottsdale, Arizona; one stepdaughter, Amelie Roxanna Hunsicker of Wylie, Texas; one brother, James Snyder of Hewitt, Texas; one sister, Sara Friesen, Chilliwack, British Columbia; and nine grandchildren.
