The Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation and Cookies Food Products are pleased to present Ron Stutsman of Riverside as an Iowan of the Day for the 2023 Iowa State Fair.
Ron Stutsman is the face of his Johnson County community. Both his town and the state of Iowa have benefited greatly from his contributions to many organizations such as the Sharon Center United Methodist Church where he has served as Chairman of the Board, the Iowa 4-H Foundation, where he has served as President, and the Agribusiness Association of Iowa where he also served as president, just to name a portion of his involvement.
Ron makes himself as well as his resources available whenever needed to his community. He has served on the Hills Bank and Trust Board of Directors, President of Goodwill Industries SE Iowa and is a member of the Iowa City Chamber of Commerce Board. On top of all this, Ron is the owner and operator of Eldon Stutsman, Inc. which has been in business for more than 80 years. All of his family members have active roles in running the successful company. While Ron is a busy man, he always finds time to serve others.
Ron's day of recognition will be Wednesday, August 16 at the 2023 Iowa State Fair. He will be recognized with a presentation on the Anne & Bill Riley stage at 12:00 PM. Along with accommodations at the Des Moines Marriott Downtown, he will receive a gift bag, Grandstand Concert tickets, use of the Iowan of the Day golf cart, a cash prize, Iowa State Fair admission tickets, and VIP parking.
Founded in 1997, the Iowan of the Day program allows the Blue Ribbon Foundation to recognize Iowa's most outstanding individuals. The program continues to honor Iowans across the state who have made a difference in the lives of others, while upholding the characteristics associated with Iowa- dependability, integrity, hard work and sense of community.
