Sharon Center United Methodist Church has a special weekend planned for Dec. 10 and 11.
On Saturday, Dec. 10, the church is holding a one-day Bible School/Parents’ Day Out program from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church. The public is invited to drop children, infants through sixth grade, off at the church while they do Christmas shopping or other activities, or just get some much-needed rest.
Children must be registered by calling the church office at 319-683-2564 or Jackie Gibbs at 319-330-4467. Snacks and lunch will be provided, and there is no charge for the annual program, which features Bible stories, music, exercise, and craft activities. This year’s theme is “Angels all Around.”
On Sunday, Dec. 11, join the church for a musical celebration of Christ’s birth at The Great Bluegrass Herons and Friends Acoustic Christmas Program, also to be held at the church, at 7 p.m. Enjoy performances by The Great Bluegrass Herons, Bob and Kristie Black and Banjoy with Joy Ward, Mary Roberts Rathje, and Zoraida Oyola-Rebaza.
