The Southeast Iowa Junior Select boys basketball team won a tournament at Urbandale Saturday.
The team defeated Northeast Iowa 90-81 in the opening round and held off Northwest Iowa 85-80 in the finals. Mid-Prairie’s Brent Showalter had two huge games, tossing in 21 points in both wins (including five three-point buckets).
IMS’ Luke Gingerich wound up with nine points during the two games, while Jace Bailey had a combined 23 points on the day.
The Southeast team will play in a tournament at Indianapolis, Indiana July 23-25.
