SongFest ‘99, sponsored by the Council of Mid-Prairie Churches, is set for Sunday, August 22, at the Wellman Mennonite Church, starting with a pie and ice cream social from 5-6:30 p.m. The musical program starts at 6:30 p.m. and features many special numbers as well as congregational singing.
Proceeds from the event will go to help pay medical expenses for Morgan Ebel, the seven-year-old Kalona girl afflicted with a rare kidney disease.
Twelve area churches are expected to participate in the event.
