It was a chance to get back on track for the Lions when they went on the road to challenge Edgewood-Colesburg for a district showdown, but the might of the Vikings proved to be too much for Lone Tree to handle. 

Staying perfect on the season, Edgewood-Colesburg (5-0) earned a dominant 52-8 victory over Lone Tree (2-3) on Sept. 25. 

This was the second time the Lions have faced off against the Vikings. Lone Tree won last year but Edgewood-Colesburg evened up the series with this win. 

Points have come in bunches for the Vikings this season (averaging 63.2 points per game). The 52 they scored against Lone Tree is actually tied for their season low, with their season high being 76. 

The Lions had a tough night stopping the run as the Vikings gained yards on the ground as they pleased, amassing 445 rushing yards as a team. 

Leading the rushing charge for the Vikings was quarterback Pryce Rochford. Rochford had a monster game on the ground, rushing for 279 yards along with two touchdowns on 19 carries. 

The senior is putting together a more than impressive season as he leads the Vikings in rushing yards (1101), rushing TDs (18), passing yards (361), passing TDs (7) tied for the lead in interceptions (2) and is second in tackles (32). 

Other TD scorers for Edgewood-Colesburg were Carson Ingles (three rushing TDs) and Jax Steger (one rushing TD and one receiving TD). 

Going over 100 yards on the ground, Lone Tree's Maddox Jondle went for 136 yards on 28 carries. The senior also scored Lone Tree's lone TD on the night, along with scroing the  ensuing 2-point conversion 

Up next for Lone Tree (2-3) is a homecoming game against the Calamus-Wheatland Warriors (3-2) on Oct. 4.
