The Highland softball team had a pair of athletes recognized by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association after finishing a 22-7 season in the regional final.

Sophomore Abbi Stransky landed on the all-state third team, while freshman Sarah Burton received honorable mention.

Stransky was 30-100 at the plate with 24 RBI over the season and was third in the conference with three home runs. At catcher, Stransky made just three errors over 29 games and led the conference with five runners thrown out. Burton led the SEISC North with 29 stolen bases. She led the Huskies with a batting average of .411 and an on-base-percentage of .467. Burton was second in the conference with 40 runs scored.

Stransky and Burton were both named to the 1A Southeast All-District team. Hillcrest seniors Meredith Blossom, Madeline Fox and Sarah Miller were named to the Academic all-state team.
