The light is finally going to shine on Dollar General.
The Riverside City Council, during its Nov. 4 regularly-scheduled meeting, approved a resolution to install a street light along Highway 22 in front of the Dollar General store.
Multiple residents had asked for a light to be installed because the entrance off Highway 22 to the store was dark and difficult to negotiate during evening hours.
Dollar General is located west of Highway 22’s intersection with Highway 218 and about a mile east of downtown Riverside.

The Council approved the renewal of Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance for the 2025 calendar year for city employees .
Next board meeting: The City Council’s next regularly scheduled meeting is at 6 p.m. November 18.
