Two area students, Laurie Bender and Jill Stoltzfus, received Menno Simons Scholarships from Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg, Virginia, for the 1999-2000 academic year.
Bender is the daughter of Ronald and Lorene Bender of Wellman and Stoltzfus is the daughter of Doug and Pam Stoltzfus of Parnell. Both are 1999 graduates of Iowa Mennonite School.
The scholarships are renewable annually provided recipients maintain at least a 3.0 GPA.
