WAPELLO

Greeting the greens at the Heritage Oaks Golf and Country Club, it was another successful road trip for the surging Huskies as they came away from the Wapello Girls Invitational with a first place finish on April 23.

Conquering the seven team field, Highland won the team championship with a low score of 386. The host school Wapello was the runner-up with 414 and Columbus took third with 431.

Taking the top spot in the individual leaderboards was Adisyn Prottsman. The Highland junior shot 88 to earn medalist honors and was the only one among 31 golfers to post a sub 90 score.

Fellow junior teammate Emersyn Schultz also impressed by coming in as the runner-up with 93.

Freshman Joslyn Prottsman also gave Highland a top five finish by ending with 99 to place fourth.  Rounding out the team score for the Huskies was Adeline Krotz with the senior posting a score of 102 to tie for sixth.

Autumn Guseman and Cassidy Duster were the final two Highland golfers to post scores as Guseman, a freshman, placed 23rd with 125 and Duster, a junior, shot 138 to place 29th.

Highland, Hillcrest, Lone Tree Triangular

One day prior to the Wapello Invite, the Huskies hosted a Triangular at Blue Top Ridge against familiar foes Hillcrest and Lone Tree.

This triple threat match was dominated by Highland as they shot 205 to claim first place. The Ravens were the runner-up with 280 and Lone Tree, who was represented by a single golfer, did not post a team score.

Highland has made the top of the leaderboards akin to a second home this season and this time was no different as they secured the top six spots.

Earning medalist honors was Adisyn Prottsman (44), earning runner-up medalist honors was Emersyn Schultz (47), placing third was Adeline Krotz (52), placing fourth was Joslyn Prottsman (62), placing fifth was Cassidy Duster (64), and placing sixth was Autumn Guseman (65).

Hillcrest was led by the efforts of Ava Miller as the sophomore shot 67 to place seventh. Rylie Viers represented the Lady Lions and she ended the day with 77 to place 11th.

Up next for Highland (19-0) is going on the road for a dual meet against conference rival Columbus (9-2) on May 1.
