Jacque Greene, Family and Consumer Science teacher at Mid-Prairie High School, is one of 280 secondary educators nationwide who received a scholarship from Insurance Education Foundation (IEF) of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Greene will attend one of seven IEF Insurance Education Institutes for High School Teachers. Greene will be at Drake University, Des Moines, for a two-week institute with 39 teachers from eight other states. Drake has held the program for 12 years, and more than 450 high school teachers from a 24-state regional have completed the institute in Des Moines.

Taught by insurance professors, the Institute includes instruction in all lines of insurance, information about how the insurance industry operates, and how to teach insurance effectively to teenagers.

Teachers who complete the program received three hours of graduate credit .
