Born September 3, 1931, in Greenfield, he was the son of Kenneth and Donna (Ayers) Miller. He graduated from Greenfield High School in 1949.

Ted R. Miller, 68, of Marion, died Monday, January 3, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a sudden illness.

Services were Thursday, January 6, in Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, Marion, with the Reverends T. Edwards Breed and Jen Andreas officiating. Burial was in Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.

Born September 3, 1931, in Greenfield, he was the son of Kenneth and Donna (Ayers) Miller. He graduated from Greenfield High School in 1949.

Mr. Miller served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and received two Purple Hearts for combat in Korea.

He was united in marriage to Edna Rolfs August 2, 1969, in Rock Island, Illinois. He was owner and operator of T.J.’s Agri Supply in Kalona for ten years, retiring in 1996.

He was member of Lutheran Church of the Resurrection and American Legion Post No. 298 in Marion.

Mr. Miller was a Hawkeye fan and enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in sporting events.

Survivors include his wife, Edna; their children and spouses, Dixie Bowser and fiance Charles Sexton of Marengo; Kathy and Larry Offerman of Marion; Steven and Jeannie Miller of Marion; Janice Miller of Frankfort, Illinois, and Pam and Doug Almandinger of Marion; ten grandchildren, Brad Bowser, Brent Bowser and Brooke Bowser, Melissa Sexton, Billy Offerman, Tony Offerman, Sean Miller, Sarah Miller, Emily Almandinger and Jared Almandinger; his mother-in-law, Ellen Rolfs; and his dear friends Vere and Barb Acker of Greenfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandmother, Bertie Ayers; and close friend, Shirley Eagen.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Mr. Miller’s memory.
