A Tracks & Tales program, sponsored by the Washington County Conservation Board, is set for Saturday, August 14, starting at l p.m.
Participants will become nature detectives by studying the many different type of “clues” left by wildlife in the area. From tracks to eat marks to droppings, the signs give observers clues to the lives of the animals who left them. As part of the program, participants will learn to tell a portion of the life stories of the Marr Park inhabitants. They also will have a hike through the park and, as a bonus, create a plaster track cast to take home.
The program is open to all ages. Marr Park is on Highway 92 just west of Ainsworth, and participants should meet at the Mary Marr Lodge.
For more information, contact the Conservation Board at 319-653-7765.
